Keihin, the global market leader in fuel injection, merged with Hadsys Co., Ltd., a specialist in air conditioning technology, and e-Giken Co., Ltd. (research and development). This merger combines mechanics, electronics, and thermal management.

In Japan wird die Keihin Corporation von Giichiro Sugiura in Tokio gegründet. Das Unternehmen startet unter dem Namen Keihin Seiki Seisakusho. Das Hauptziel der Gründung ist die Entwicklung und Produktion von Präzisionsbauteilen und Vergasern, um die rasant wachsende japanische Automobil- und Motorradindustrie, insbesondere Honda zu beliefern.
