During the 1970s and 1980s, Sebac became a key original equipment manufacturer (OEM) for the Italian 50cc and 125cc off-road industry. The company specialized in hydraulic twin-shock absorbers, which were standard equipment on models from brands like Motron, Garelli, Fantic, and Malaguti. While brands like Marzocchi targeted the high-end competition market, Sebac provided reliable and affordable suspension components for amateur off-road riding and sporty street enduros .

Closed: 1998

The original Sebac company no longer exists as an independent entity. It was liquidated following financial difficulties in the late 1990s. The brand rights and parts of the production technology were acquired by the Italian group Cofap (and later influenced by Magneti Marelli). Today, shock absorbers under the Sebac name are primarily produced as aftermarket parts for classic scooters (like Vespa) and mopeds, mostly manufactured in Asia or by specialized suppliers.
